These pieces extend a playful disruption of architectural language—a deliberate denaturing of deco motifs into absurd compositions. Whereas deco exudes elegance, slavish repetition of characteristic concentric circles and exaggerated offsets rolls a massy brutality in with all the grace of a thundercloud.
